"Jaye maneuvers beautifully, using those touches just enough to evoke the mysteries of Miriam’s life."
“Britt Lower is subtle but magnetic as Miriam, eloquently moving us through her character's inner life and external challenges.”
- The Hollywood Reporter
“The sophomore film by Naomi Jaye (executive produced by Charlie Kaufman), is an imaginative metamodern brain-teaser which quite gracefully dances around several genres.”
- ScreenAnarchy
“(Britt) Lower takes the lead with a revealing lead performance in Naomi Jaye’s wry but recessive character study ‘Darkest Miriam,’ in which she plays a grieving Toronto librarian who surrounds herself with other people’s stories in order to avoid reckoning with her own .”
- Indiewire
“Darkest Miriam spends time getting us acclimated into the weird library world of Miriam (Britt Lower, Sisters, Mr. Roosevelt), then pays off its slow burn with layered charm…Character-driven dramedy at its finest, Darkest Miriam speaks to loners everywhere.”
- Josh at the movies
