Tremendous Productions

With a flair for cinematic scale and visual storytelling, Tremendous Productions, helmed by film artist Naomi Jaye, creates film experiences for the world stage that provoke emotion through a combination of unconventional storytelling and striking visual execution.

Naomi Jaye

Filmmaker Naomi Jaye’s roots in visual design brings a distinct charm to her storytelling that often focuses on the comedic side of human frailty. Naomi’s most recent feature film DARKEST MIRIAM premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival 2024 and has won her numerous best directing awards. Executive produced by Charlie Kaufman and starring Britt Lower of SEVERANCE fame, it begins its theatrical run in the spring of 2025.

It was while completing her MFA at York University that Naomi expanded her screen-based practice to include video installation. She has mounted three large-scale video installations in as many years with partnerships including Theatre Passe Muraille, T.O. Live and the Harbourfront Centre. Her next project funded SLOW is a human-powered installation that explores Parkinson’s and the aging body. Her new installation practice is strongly influenced by her background in theatre design.

Naomi is also in development  on a UAE/Canada project THE COMMON FATHER, a film about a woman’s journey in search of her past from Montreal through Mumbai to Amman.

Naomi is a lecturer at Toronto Metropolitan University.
